Guilday - Family Session - Pensacola
Let’s take a moment and talk about Tamara. This incredible woman walked into our wedding studio nearly three years ago to get some information - her daughter, Laura, had recently gotten engaged. Since that day, she has made a continuous, positive impact in all of our lives. We did end up photographing Laura and Pete’s wedding (one of my all-time favorite days, and you can see it HERE), and it only made me love Tamara and her family even more. Tamara is a human who brings light into the room, who is unceasingly positive and generous with her compliments, and who clearly chooses to see good in everyone. She lived just two blocks from our downtown studio, and we treasured the mornings when she would stop in to say hi while on her morning walk. About six months ago, she broke the news that she and her husband (and their sweet pup, Molly) were moving back to Atlanta. A photo session was a small gift I could give her, and it goes nowhere near repaying the joy she brought to all of us while she lived nearby. Tamara, her husband Mike, and sweet Molly and I spent a few hours one morning taking a tour of their favorite spots in Pensacola - Hub Stacey’s, where they would grab Friday night sandwiches with their neighbors; Pure Barre, which Tamara frequented for years; Old Christ Church where their daughter was married; and my favorite spot, their “decision bench,” a city bench overlooking Palafox Marina where they would sit together when faced with a big decision, weigh their options, and make a choice. I miss this woman and these photos make me smile every time I look at them.
