Allison - Senior Portrait Photography Session - Pensacola
What’s your name? Do you have a nickname(s)?
“My name is Allison Spradlin.”
Describe your senior year in three words.
“Interesting, Exciting, Tiring”
Your favorite high school memory?
“The first day of 9th grade, it was pouring outside and I was soaked and cold when I got into my 4th period class. A girl named Christina that I had met a week earlier gave me a hug to make me feel better. We have been best friends ever since.”
What extracurricular activities were you involved in?
“I was a member of the swim team for all 4 years of High School. I became the Girls Captain for this past season. It helped to make my last year of swimming one to remember.”
What are your plans for after high school?
“I plan on getting a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations/Studies and moving to Japan to teach English.”
If you could have one song play every time you entered a room, which song would you choose?
“I wouldn’t have a specific song. My music preferences cater to my mood so I feel that one song would be boring after a while.”
If you had the opportunity to travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
“I really want to visit Kyoto, Japan. On my last trip to Japan, there was an older Japanese man that began speaking with me about World War II and he mentioned that Kyoto is a hub of Japanese History. I’ve been wanting to go there since that conversation.”
What are three things you must do in your lifetime?
“I don’t have any “Must-do” items because life doesn’t always go according to plan. Instead I have a list of things that I want in life, these being: to live in a foreign country and immerse myself in that culture fully, to eventually have a family of my own, and ultimately want to be happy.”
How do you spend your free time?
“I listen to music (typically country or pop), I like to read fiction, and I love spending time with my dogs (Bigby and Benny).”
If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?
“I would want to be a dolphin because they are intelligent, they get to swim, and they can travel easier than I can at the moment.”
What inspires you?
“Goals inspire me to be the best that I can be. I have wanted to learn Japan for a while now but never had the chance. Now that I am heading off to college soon I can learn the language fully and achieve my goal of living in a foreign country.”
Finish this sentence: “When I was young, I used to imagine myself as…”
“When I was young, I used to imagine myself as a veterinarian.”
Where do you hope to be in 10 years?
“I hope to be either in Japan, pursuing my life abroad, or here in the States, doing something I love.”
What’s the best advice you’ve been given? Who gave it to you?
“There are too many pieces of good advice that I have been given to only quote one.”
If you were stranded on an island, what 5 things would you bring with you, and why?
“I would bring a boat with unlimited fuel, an unlimited amount of food, an unlimited amount of freshwater, my family, and shelter/materials to build shelter. I would bring these so it would feel like a vacation as opposed to being stranded.”
What are you most proud of accomplishing while you were in high school?
“In all honesty I am proud to have accomplished all that I have in the International Baccalaureate Program. I have faced many trials and I am proud that I have made it through each one.”
